10 Most Evil Game Of Thrones Characters
2. Joffrey Baratheon
It’s safe to say that during the first half of the show’s run no character was hated more than Joffrey.
Whereas his mother’s actions had a (somewhat) understandable goal behind them, Joffrey’s exploits frequently deviated away from rationality and into the depths of evil. Indeed, he was motivated exclusively by his own pursuit of pleasure and power, and had little to no regard for those around him.
As early as the second episode he had no hesitation in abusing those he deemed inferior to him, which led to the death of both Mycah (the butcher’s boy) and Lady (Sansa’s direwolf).
Unfortunately, his behaviour on the road from Winterfell to King’s Landing was relatively tame compared to his time on the Iron Throne. Only days after becoming king, he ordered Ned Stark to be executed, before he then presented Sansa with her father’s recently severed head purely for his own amusement. Yet his most sadistic act would have to be the bloody murder of Ros in his own bed chambers.
For those who had not read the novels, Joffrey’s death was one of the few pleasant surprises throughout the show. If anyone deserved to die at their own wedding it was him.
