10 Most Messed Up Deaths In Star Trek: Lower Decks

9. The Black Mountain

Star Trek Lower Decks No Small Parts Shaxs Funeral

When Lt. Shaxs met his bitter (or triumphant, depending on who you ask) end in No Small Parts, one would be forgiven for believing that was the end of the road for the Bajoran security chief. This man had lived his life in service to the Prophets (and explosions) so he was on the one-way ride to the Celestial Temple, easy.

Suddenly, Ensign Rutherford started to notice some strange things aboard the Cerritos. Who was the hulking Bajoran walking around the ship in gold? Why was there an officer who bore a striking resemblance to the dearly departed Shaxs still serving on the bridge?

It was true! Shaxs was back - and he didn't come via the easy route.

Star Trek: Lower Decks took fine aim at those times characters popped back from the dead in the rest of the franchise. Spock had taken a siesta in The Wrath Of Khan and Harry Kim may even be a record-holder in death standings, but both of them came back. Why not Shaxs? Why not everyone?

It involves a Black Mountain and a large Koala. When Rutherford confronted Shaxs, the latter whispered the truth into the former's horrified ears, warping his very understanding of reality and the universe. Some things are better left unsaid, as Rutherford would surely agree.

But hey, at least we got Shaxs back!
