3. Daleks

The Doctor Who villain. If you were to ask anyone, even those who have never seen an episode, to name a character from the show outside of The Doctor, the response would almost certainly be the Daleks. They have become that iconic.

There’s good reason, too. They may look like oversized salt-and-pepper shakers with sink plungers sticking out of them, but within that shell is, well, a squidgy little body, but within that is a mind of pure evil hell-bent on the destruction of other races and an unwavering belief in the supremacy of its species.

They are the biggest enemies of the Time-Lords, fighting against them in the Time-War - which it turns out they ultimately survived. And in nuWho they’ve managed to overcome their biggest weakness…stairs! With the ability of flight, combined with the laser shooting gun and solid metal exterior, they’re a match for pretty much anyone, and are one of the most feared races in the galaxy.
