10 Most Savage South Park Celebrity Takedowns

1. Mel Gibson

When The Passion of the Christ first came to theatres, it caused some controversy; some loved it, for religious and cinematic reasons, others objected. South Park had other ideas.

The show comes from the angle that the movie is terrible; just a snuff movie in which Jesus is tortured horrifically for an hour.

Cartman loves the film because he sees it as validation for his anti-semitism, while Kyle is now ashamed to be Jewish. Stan and Kenny hate the movie and are determined to get their ticket money back from Mel Gibson.

They try, and Gibson is shown as a crazed, hellfire and brimstone, egomaniacal, Daffy Duck-like caricature who has a penchant for receiving physical, sexual torture. His goal is to make church more strict and severe in order to play banjo.

In the end, the truth is revealed that he was crazy for making a movie that focuses on how Jesus died rather than what he taught or how he lived.

What's more incredible is that South Park predicted that Mel had problems long before he started demonstrating his actual issues and breakdowns in public. Whatever the incentive for making the movie, Mel doesn't come across as spiritual or eloquent, but just an even crazier version of Mad Max.
