6. Shae's Testimony
The relationship between Tyrion and Shae provided some light in a sea of darkness, and the odd couple made for a surprisingly good pairing. They were both dedicated to each other, but as Tyrion knew only too well his wretched family weren’t going to just sit back and let him be happy, so to protect her he broke it off in a nasty fashion.
So she was the last person he expected to see during his trial for the death of Joffrey, and the look on his face when he has to sit and listen to her paint him as a monster is just the worst. He even begs her to stop, but she presses ahead with more lies.
Peter Dinklage’s acting in this scene is what makes it so intense, and his heartbreak and fury at Shae’s betrayal all but guarantees a few manly tears when he finally snaps in front of the court.
