4. Glenn Is Devoured And Presumed Deceased The Walking Dead
Talk about a WTF double bluff. During the third episode of season six of The Walking Dead titled Thank You, long-surviving character Glenn Rhee witnesses the suicide of Nicholas and is seemingly torn to pieces and devoured by walkers. The episode itself is brilliant, focusing on Glenn (in order to make the climax even more shocking) and the group's attempt to head back towards Alexandria. Thank You received immense critical acclaim, and sent fans wild by retaining the ambiguity of Glenn's fate. Many were convinced Rhee was a goner while others remained unconvinced. The remaining WTF-ness of the scene was fulfilled in the seventh episode of the season titled Heads Up, in which Glenn is confirmed as having survived. What an emotional roller-coaster.
