10 Notable Names With At Least One Recurring TV Voice Role

2. Katey Sagal

Talent can find the spotlight. The best talent stays there.

Katey Sagal's career in television started in 1971 with a few smaller roles, but initially had a more decorated music career, providing backing vocals for everyone from Bob Dylan, Olivia Newton-John and Bette Midler to Molly Hatchet and Gene Simmons, most notably on KISS' 'Calling Dr. Love'. While it wouldn't ultimately be her claim to fame, she did return to music for two solo albums in 1994 and 2004.

For the last 33 years, Sagal has introduced herself to a new audience in one capacity or another. For most, it was probably for her ten-season, 246-episode run as Peggy Bundy on Married... with Children. FX viewers likely loved her, hated her or loved to hate her as Gemma Teller-Morrow on Sons of Anarchy. Others might remember Cate Hennessy on the ill-fated John Ritter series, 8 Simple Rules. Even now, Sagal has had recent recurring roles on shows like Shameless and The Conners. For animation geeks though, Katey Sagal will only ever be the captain of the Planet Express Ship.

For ten tumultuous seasons, 124 episodes and four feature-length movies between 1999 and 2013, Sagal lent her voice to Turanga Leela, opinionated purple-haired cyclops and co-protagonist (co-tagonist?) on Futurama. To say the show has achieved cult status is an understatement after averting discontinuation on three separate occasions. Still wildly popular in reruns, there's no telling when a fourth Fu revival could be on the horizon.
