10 Reasons The Future Of Doctor Who Is Safe With Steven Moffat

10. Peter Capaldi Will Have A Great Three Series Arc

If there's one thing fans know about Moffat, it's that he plans ahead. The seeds of the Silence arc of Matt Smith's era were planted in his very first episode, The Eleventh Hour, and many of the loose storylines were brought together - albeit quite messily - in Smith's finale, The Time of the Doctor. Rumours at that time indicated that Moffat had planned Series 8 with Smith in mind and had to scramble to tie up loose ends in just one episode. With Moffat staying through Series 10, however, there is now an opportunity to give Peter Capaldi a great three series arc. Series 8 seemed sufficiently self contained but Moffat can now start threading arcs that take multiple series to come to fruition. Assuming that both Moffat and Capaldi are here until the end of 2016, fans could see Moffat€™s timey-wimey tendencies return. Or, if Series 8 is any indication, Moffat could continue to reel himself in and give us a thematic satisfying two series, much in the vein of Series 8. Capaldi is perfectly suited for Moffat€™s penchant for combining quick-witted dialogue and genuinely emotional moments. Fans will hope that the next two series will bring out the best in both of them. Fingers crossed!
