10 Recent TV Shows With The Worst CGI Moments
3. The Dinosaurs - Terra Nova
Back in 2011, Terra Nova was hyped as one of TV's most exciting additions, and with good reason. The blend of time travel, dinosaurs, and survivalist tropes sounded like a goldmine for compelling small-screen drama and epic thrills.
It also helped that it had a huge budget to play with and Steven Spielberg as its executive producer. Unfortunately, these components could not coalesce into a winning series for Fox. The show was not awful by any means but did not live up to its potential, being canceled after one season.
Its large production budget ensured that the show's scope and digital environments were solid, but the same could not be said for its main attraction. The dinosaurs were very unconvincing, and this was especially egregious in a post-Jurassic Park world and with a mammoth budget.
Although they were rendered with more detail than their big-screen predecessors, they lacked the same level of realism and tangibility as the show's digital creations and this hurt its credibility with audiences during its run.
