10 Sci-Fi TV Shows That We'll Be Glued To This Season

5. Sleepy Hollow

Sleepy Hollow Say what you will about the seemingly mismatched premise, this show is actually really fun! The pilot saw Ichabod Crane, a spy in the Revolutionary War, wake up from a nearly 300 year spell-induced slumber. Oh yeah, and the Headless Horseman (who also happens to be Death...yes, that's right, of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse) has also awakened, and is wreaking havoc on the citizens of 21st century Sleepy Hollow. I admit, it sounds a little ridiculous, but somehow the show is really pulling it off. There's already a noticeable fanbase, no doubt due in part to the wonderful efforts of the social networking team, and it's already signed on for a second season. So how is Sleepy Hollow doing it? When the show was first announced earlier in the year, I wrote it off as something that would never get a second season, and if it did, it would be flat out of ideas when it came time for the second mid-season plot twist. I think the show has a perfect mix of "historical"/supernatural elements, and the chemistry between the two leads is to die for. A good rapport and a few endearing qualities are all you really need to get an audience attached to your characters, and Sleepy Hollow has certainly captured those perfectly in Ichabod Crane and Abbie Mills. Crane vs. technology scenes are my admittedly my kryptonite. If you're not watching the show already, get yourself over to Hulu and enjoy.
