10 Shows You Didn’t Realize Were By Seth MacFarlane
5. Johnny Bravo
He may not have created the iconic Cartoon Network cartoon series, but Seth MacFarlane (again accompanied by Butch Hartman) played a huge role in developing the character and writing many of the episodes for Johnny Bravo.
Criticized for its frequently misogynistic and occasionally homophobic ways, Johnny Bravo stood in front of a lot of opposition yet still became a huge success for the network and continues to linger in our memories today. Younger fans have also flocked to the series, too, taking delight in how awfully distasteful the show was (especially for a children’s cartoon) under a modern lens.
MacFarlane didn’t fail to capitalize on the cartoon’s cult-like success by any means. As early as 2002, he and his cohorts pitched the idea of creating a film version of Johnny Bravo starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, but there has been little word on the production ever since.
Even though Bravo often faced his comeuppance for his devious actions, it’s still a series that wouldn’t survive if rebooted today. However, it did give viewers a taste for what MacFarlane and company would produce in the future with shows such as Family Guy and American Dad.
