10 Spooky Doctor Who Episodes

6. The Brain Of Morbius

When the Fourth Doctor and his journalist companion Sarah-Jane Smith are sent to a planet by the Timelords, it is obvious that something is afoot, though the Doctor is at first relucant to find it. After discovering a space-ship graveyard and a beheaded alien insect though, the Doctor decides to investigate - could it possibly have anything to do with the mysterious Doctor Solon who offers them shelter from a storm? An episode from the 'gothic' period of Doctor Who during the Tom Baker era, though it is set in space, the story is full of horror tropes and cliches - Frankenstein like scientists, a spaceship graveyard, a lumbering assistant with a hook, a mutilated insect body and a headless monster in the basement. This episode also introduced the Sisters of Karn, who more recently appeared in the webisode Night of the Doctor during the 50th anniversary celebrations.
