10 Strangest Ever Doctor Who Villains

4. The 'Midnight Entity'

One of the weirdest creatures ever in Doctor Who isn€™t given a name, and we never see what it truly looks like. What€™s more, the Doctor has never heard of the creature or its race, in all his centuries of wandering the universe. That alone would make it a front-runner in this list, but there€™s much more. The fourth season€™s episode €˜Midnight€™ introduces us to the diamond planet of the same name €“ a beautiful wasteland composed entirely of precious gems, with no atmosphere, constantly bathed in lethal x-tonic radiation from its sun. This utterly uninhabitable planet had been left in silence for millions of years before humanity arrived and decided to take advantage of the astonishing landscape to turn it into a leisure world€ and yet, somehow, something had survived there, all of that time. That something took action when a shuttle bus conveying tourists (and the 10th Doctor, luckily for them) around the surface broke down in the middle of nowhere, managing to enter the craft, rip the cockpit to pieces and possess the inhabitants one by one, forcing their hosts to repeat the words of the others on the shuttle, gradually speeding up to say what they were saying as they were saying it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIYdxvItlE8 Eventually, the creature steals the Doctor€™s voice completely, which leads to its defeat. However, because the Doctor had no idea what it was or how it had survived on Midnight for all of those years, he had no idea whether it had survived the encounter. For all he knows, it€™s still out there€ an impossible creature marooned in eternal, glittering silence€
