5. The Carrie Diaries

As a Sex and the City fan, I was quite excited to hear that The Carrie Diaries was in production so why is this show one of the most stupid TV shows to air in 2013. When I turned it on for the first time I was intrigued to see how young Carrie Bradshaw would be portrayed, as well as whether Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte be involved too? Unfortunately, I was thoroughly disappointed by the lack of anything remotely Sex And The City related other than a girl named Carrie who wants to be a writer. The Carrie Diaries is certainly stupid for one thing, and this is mostly down to the fact that 1960s Carrie bears very little resemblance to the Carrie Bradshaw we know and love from either Sex And The City or the original novel of same name by Candace Bushnell. We know very little of Carrie's background from Sex And The City, but you'd think someone might have mentioned Carrie's mother dying at a young age, or her tearaway sister Dorrit. With every episode this year came a new rumour that the show would be cancelled, but sadly, this has so far not been the case. Regardless of that stay of execution, any show that centres around a handbag with a girl's name on it can definitely be classed under the category of stupid.
