5. Wilson Fisk Goes Public - Daredevil
Netflixs Daredevil rescued The Man Without Fear from the scrapheap Ben Affleck launched him onto circa 2003, with a gritty, visceral take on his battle to save Hells Kitchen. The series followed Matt Murdock as he laid down the law through the judicial system by day and with his fists by night. To summarise, it provided a thought-provoking, philosophical look at the blurred line between good and evil interspersed with awesome fight scenes. There cant be a hero without a villain however, and the show went big in the first season, opting for Wilson "The Kingpin" Fisk. He's a man with big plans for his city, believing (as Daredevil does) that he is doing the right thing to save it. The only real difference is that his version of right involves extortion, murder, and explosions. Fisks plan is as expansive as it is meticulous, he shrewdly commands from the shadows through shell companies and henchmen. That is until some of Murdocks chums discover that he murdered his father as a child. Fearing his credibility as the citys benefactor is at stake, he decides to make his involvement public. Far from being the right thing to do, this draws a ridiculous amount of attention to him. This questionable decision is the first of many which lead him straight to jail. If hed stayed anonymous the chance of anyone pinning any crimes to him, never mind catching him, would have been slim to none.
