10 Things We Need To See In House Of The Dragon Season 2
2. How dark HBO are willing to go
The night is dark and full of terrors ahead for the more squeamish and sensitive viewers amongst House of the Dragon's burgeoning fanbase.
Considering HBO's intimate devotion to Martin's source material has resulted in children slashing one another's eyes out, sons who burn their families alive and some of the more abhorrently graphic and tragic birth scenes ever seen on television, do not be shocked if House of the Dragon's second season tests the boundaries of what was deemed acceptable viewing.
Be warned, the devastating death of Lucerys and Arrax was just the beginning of the tidal wave of death and destruction set to rain down on Westeros. The death of the aforementioned Prince and the concurrent ripple effect on several key characters has opened the door for HBO to inflict levels of television based trauma on their viewers the likes of which have never been seen before; some of storylines that could potentially play out next season make the Red Wedding look like The Teddy-Bears Picnic.
With that being said, fans worldwide - particularly those who have read Fire and Blood - are absolutely desperate to see just how depraved a direction House of the Dragon is prepared to take its viewers when the conflict begins in earnest. One thing is for sure; if HBO are at the wheel, they’ll go as far as humanly possible.
