10 Things You Didn't Know About Jenna-Louise Coleman
9. She Was A 23 Year Old School Girl
Jenna decided to call it a day on her time gallivanting in the Yorkshire Dales in 2009 and she went out in true soap opera style - that is, overly dramatic and totally unbelievable - when her controversial character was imprisoned for four years after mercilessly clubbing her boyfriend to death with a chair leg. No... Seriously. It was only just the beginning for Jenna, though, as she went from one popular drama to another (albeit on a rival channel) when she was promptly enlisted as Lindsay James in the BBC show Waterloo Road. It's what she goes to school for. Still, it enabled her to make the seamless transition from soap star to school girl (is it just us, or was her career going backwards?) and the fact she was actually 23 at the time apparently didn't effect her ability to play an angsty 16 year old. Don't judge a book by its cover, though, because Jenna established her "hard as nail" teenage alter ego as a formidable force to be reckoned with when she was introduced with a dark secret that was eventually revealed to be the fact that she'd stabbed her sexually abusive father to death and covered it up at her mother's request. And guess what? She went to jail... again! Can anybody else see a pattern emerging here?
