10 Times Doctor Who Daleks Appeared Where You'd Least Expect Them

3. The Daleks Team Up With the Joker to Defeat Batman

Due to the ever-expanding list of intellectual property licences that Lego have at their disposal, the Lego movies have been able to combine all manner of disparate pop-culture characters into one story. It's one of the main appeals of the films, the fact that they capture the feeling of childhood play. Grabbing all your action figures or Lego sets and having the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles team up with Spider-Man to defeat Voldemort.

Nowhere is this more dazzlingly realised than in The Lego Batman Movie. Not content to restrict himself to DC comics' roster of villains, the Joker also partners up with (amongst others) Sauron from Lord of the Rings, the Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz and Agent Smith from The Matrix.

There are also the copyright skirtingly named British Robots, which are definitely the Daleks. Their colourings reflect those of the derided plasticky Paradigm Daleks and they definitely yell EXTERMINATE at Batman. They're not voiced by Nicholas Briggs though, and as the name Dalek isn't used, they also presumably dodged paying a hefty fee to the Nation estate.
