10 Times Doctor Who Was More Like Fifty Shades Of Grey

1. Dalek Dungeons

It's a little known fact, and one that leads to constant misunderstandings, that Daleks have a thriving BDSM scene. Since the Kaleds experimented with tight military uniforms and black leather, S&M has been an outlet for mutant frustrations. Being an all conquering force is all well and good but how does a blob in bonded polycarbite armour relax?

Isn't it a little suspicious that Daleks often end up in torture dungeons? The answer is obvious - they chose to be there. Consider the NuWho 2005 classic Dalek. The lone Skarosian is having a fine all time, having its casing prodded by a jackhammer... and does it use the safe word? No, because it is loving it. A Dalek likes nothing more than to have its vision impaired. Then the Doctor turns up, Rose infects the poor thing with human DNA and what started out as a kinky away break ends up with the poor Dalek having to self-destruct.

What's more, one of the great ironies of the galaxy is the Dalek/Movellan war. These two robot races fought for decades when, had they just but known, the Daleks love of submissive love play would have totally chimed with the Movellan love of domination. Just look at those Movellans, all silver braids and biceps. Never has the phrase Make Love Not War been more applicable. As for that Asylum of the Daleks? A giant S&M convention that no one had told the Dalek Parliament about. Those Daleks weren't crazy, they were just totally exhausted.

What did you think of this list? Are there any other ways that Doctor Who is like 50 Shades of Grey? Let us know in the comments section below. We'd say 'keep it clean', but that mantra has already gone out of the window by this point...
