10 Times The Doctor Wasn't Very 'Doctory'

Series 8’s Kill the Moon, is a divisive episode to say the least. A trip taking Clara and her student Courtney to the moon is interrupted when they discover that something is happening to it which is having a negative effect on the Earth below.

Coming to the climax of the episode, and the Doctor realising there is a choice to be made, he decides that he cannot make this one, and that it should be left to the decision of the humans. So, he leaves Clara and her student and flies off in the TARDIS. Bit of a dick move…

Once the decision is made, the Doctor returns and takes them back to Earth to witness the decision they’ve made, where the moon is revealed to be the egg of some space creature (but let's just leave that there).

Upon returning to the TARDIS, Clara kicks off at the Doctor for “clearing off”, saying she doesn’t want to see him again, which is one of Clara’s most understandable actions.

Although, the Doctor’s intentions maybe to show that he can’t make every decision, the way he goes about it, isn’t very ‘Doctory’. Always saying he helps where he’s needed, why in this difficult moment abandon his companion? We've seen companions be head strong plenty of times, but that's on there terms, not a moment thrust upon them by the Doctor as a sort of test.
