The success of The CW's Arrow led to the creation of new connected universe was creatively called "The Arrowverse". The first show in this new venture was The Flash, based on the popular comic book speedster.

Fans will know that one of Barry Allen's biggest enemies on the page was the Reverse-Flash, a scientist from the future who travels back in time to wipe the regular Flash from existence.

In the show, Reverse-Flash's real name is Eobard Thawne, but is introduced to audiences under the name Harrison Wells.

Wells is a wheelchair-using scientist who was injured in the same explosion that gave Barry his powers. He initially works with Team Flash to round up the various metahumans created by the accident before turning on them after his true identity is revealed.

Whilst Wells was always shown to be shady, fans quickly realised that he was going to be the Reverse-Flash. They suspected he was a time traveller and correctly guessed that the show would want to bring out the big guns for its first major enemy.

The reveal came as a shock to no one, but that yellow suit was super snazzy, so we'll let them off.
