10 TV Shows That Aired Their Worst Ever Episode In 2015

10. New Business - Mad Men

Original Air Date: April 12, 2015 Mad Men is, generally speaking, such a tightly constructed and inherently novelistic show, that a rotten episode like New Business really stands out. Especially since, for the most part, Mad Men's seventh and final season was a work of genuine mastery. After that long you kind of expect a show like this to be flailing, but Mad Men stayed strong right up to its very last episode. The only real blip was this random installment, which feels like it was written in a hurry (by an intern, who also happened to be the son of a high-level executive working at AMC, who demanded he got to write one). The most jarring moments in New Business concern Diana, who Don Draper suddenly - in a highly out of character turn - tries to connect with. It doesn't feel like him at all, and you're left staring at the screen wondering what the hell happened to the guy (there's also the lackluster way that the show brings Megan's storyline to a sad and somewhat flat end). Usually when you watch an episode of Mad Men unfold, it's as part of the "whole" - like reading the next chapter in a brilliantly dense book. New Business needed to be cut.
