1. The Witcher

Originally written as a book series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher is a franchise that has spawned several successful entries across a variety of formats and in 2019, Netflix debuted its own take on the hit.

Here's the good news. Following a two year wait, you can finally expect season two to hit the streaming platform on 17 December 2021. Based on the short prequel stories The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny, season one had a slow start - finding its footing in later episodes.

However, if you stuck around for the entire run, you'd have seen Geralt (Henry Cavill) finally meet with Ciri (Freya Allan), the princess of Cintra. Whilst many presume Ciri to be Geralt's daughter, this isn't true as Geralt said himself that Witchers are sterile. Instead, she becomes his ward.

Showrunner Lauren Hissrich has teased that season two will focus on their dysfunctional family dynamic as Geralt brings Ciri to his childhood home, Kaer Morhen. Hissirch labels the duo as "the most unexpected family you can imagine". Colour us intrigued.

That's not the only relationship drama we have to focus on though. Last time we see Geralt, he believes Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) to be dead - which we know isn't the case - so there's sure to be a dramatic reunion ahead.
