10 TV Shows That Have Already Been Cancelled In 2021

8. Wynonna Earp

I May Destroy You
SyFy

SyFy's Wynonna Earp will end on April 9th 2021 at the close of its fourth season. This news has come as something of a surprise, as the show had recently recovered from financial trouble that seemed to put the troubled production back on track.

IDW Publishing owns the rights to Earp's source material. SyFy, which broadcasts the show internationally in Canada, stepped in to help fund the series when several investors pulled out. However, they were unable to sustain the show independently. At this point, IDW Entertainment teamed up with Cineflix Studios as a co-producer.

Despite this, SyFy opted not to renew the show for a fifth season. Series creator and showrunner Emily Andras spoke to the Hollywood Reporter:

I’d like to thank our wonderful cast and crew, all of whom were instrumental in bringing Wynonna Earp to our loyal and passionate audience. We couldn’t be prouder of these last six episodes on Syfy, and are thrilled to share them with our beloved fans, who have changed our lives forever.

There is a possibility of a fifth season, though it hinges entirely on sourcing a new distributor. At present, the current series will be the show's last.
