10 TV Spin-offs You Didn't Know Were Happening

5. The Boys Go To College

Even though The Boys is a relatively new property in the TV space, its huge success has already given Amazon the confidence to push ahead with a spinoff.

After the record-breaking launch of the show's second season in September 2020 (it was the biggest-ever global release of an Amazon original series), this spinoff was quickly fast-tracked. It's going to be set in "superhero college", exploring the lives of these young adults as they deal with all the regular problems that college students face - just with an added super-powered twist.

It will also be extremely R-rated - as you'd expect with a show set in this universe.

The spinoff has already roped in several actors to flesh out its cast, and while it hasn't been given that final go-ahead quite yet, Deadline recently noted that it's "nearing a formal green light."

Considering the phenomenal success of The Boys - as well as the progress that's been made on this spinoff - it's almost a guarantee that the green light will be given.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
