8. When Did The Doctor Tell River His Name?
Within the wonderfully timey whimey adventures featuring the Doctor and River Song, it was revealed on several occasions that Ms Song knew the Doctor's real name. On the last occasion that she saw the Doctor in person in an effort to get him to trust her, River whispered his name in his ear, and it was evident from the Timelord's reaction that it was correct.
A second time when the name was spoken was during the epic finale of Series 7, when the companions of Matt Smith's Doctor were saved when River whispered his name to open his tomb. Again, we couldn't hear what the name was, but it was definitely correct considering the Doctor's tomb was opened.
None of this however pinpoints the exact moment the Doctor told her his name, or why he did. David Tennant's Doctor stated that there was 'only one moment he could', and while we assumed this was his wedding day, it was never definitively stated that this was the case. Matt Smith's Doctor stated to River that he had 'just told her his name' on their 'wedding day', but this was revealed to be a ruse
