10 Underrated TV Shows You Need To Start Watching
4. Severance
Even though Apple's ingenious sci-fi thriller series Severance was one of last year's most acclaimed shows, the near-universal praise bafflingly failed to translate into much awards success at all.
Despite being nominated for a stonking fourteen Emmys at last year's ceremony, Severance walked away with just two, for Main Title Design and Original Dramatic Score, while failing to win anything for its astonishing writing, directing, or acting, all of which was certainly Emmy-worthy.
Needless to say, many will be hoping that its upcoming second season will receive a far more charitable treatment from Emmy voters.
Meanwhile in terms of viewing figures, Severance's popularity (or possible lack thereof) remains a mystery, due to Apple failing to report any meaningful data whatsoever.
Hell, even the series' executive producer and director, Ben Stiller, said that Apple withheld precise numbers from him, ensuring that even he doesn't know exactly how many people are watching the show.
Case in point, you absolutely need to watch Severance if you're not already - it deserves to be more than a critical fave that gets cancelled because its viewing figures don't justify its obviously high cost of production.
