Absolutely Fabulous was the brainchild of the legendary comedy duo, French and Saunders and managed three separate TV runs, countless specials and even a feature length film in 2016.

The show told the story of two friends, Eddy and Patsy, who use their wealth to go on drug and drink fuelled adventures with disastrous results. The two are constantly chasing the newest trends in order to feel young again and often find themselves being pulled out of ridiculous situations by Eddy's daughter, Saffron.

Ab Fab gained a mountain of critical acclaim, posting 17th on the BFI's "Greatest British Television Shows of All Time" list, as well as countless other top 100 lists. As always, American executives were keen to try and grab a bit of the show's sucess, unsurprisingly it didn't work out either time.

The first remake was said to star the late Carrie Fisher and Barbara Carrera (Never Say Never Again, Dallas) in the main roles, while Rosanne Barr would take up the producer's role.

The second attempt would see Kathryn Hahn (Step Brothers, Transparent) and Kristen Johnston (3rd Rock from the Sun) jump into the roles, but Saunders involvement the show wasn't picked up.
