These 10 worst Community episodes make me wish I had Chang-nesia.

Created and written by Dan Harmon (well, for the most part anyway but more on that later), Community has gained such a huge cult following that it has gone down as one of the greatest American comedies of all time. The combination of a terrific cast and hilarious concepts about a lovable bunch of misfits trying to make their way through community college resonated with millions of us, showing us all the importance of finding a place to call home when the world eats you up and spits you back out.

The show both reintroduced us to a variety of acting talents like Chevy Chase and Keith David, but also gave a platform to future stars like Donald Glover and Alison Brie who, despite began to make waves in Mad Men, really came into her own in Community. After 6 seasons (and a movie?), 110 episodes and a whole butt load of production issues along the way, Community is without a doubt one of the most rewatchable shows of all time.

Despite all the praise it so clearly deserves, let's not kid ourselves here. They aren't all show stoppers. Although we all have out go-to episodes to show people when they first get into Community, there are a handful we try to avoid and intentionally skip. From episodes written during the "gas leak year" to high school students shouting the most annoying catchphrase of all time, take a look at the 10 worst Community episodes

10. Basic Rocket Science (Season 2 Episode 4)

In this episode, the dean is worried that his arch rivals City College will unveil their state of the art space rocket simulator before Greendale gets a chance to unveil theirs. So, in an attempt to beat them, he enlists the gang's help to clean it up to make it media ready. Whilst cleaning, the door seals shut and all except Abed are stuck inside.

Why it sucks: Although this episode is by no means a terrible one it's distinctively average in comparison to many others. Dan Harmon talked about his writing process of putting the characters first before incorporating a parody or theme around it but in this case, somebody blatantly just wanted to do an Apollo 13 parody. Also, Jeff's whole "who cares about Greendale winning a stupid competition - this school sucks" attitude seems to change at the drop of a hat half way through the episode with no clear explanation why in a bid to speed things along.

What doesn't suck: We get the very first unveiling of the notorious Greendale "E pluribus anus" flag which actually translates to "Out of many, one." Doesn't change the fact the flag looks like a butthole though.

I see my role at WhatCulture the same way my wife sees my role as a lover: I contribute in a very small way, my presence is barely noticeable and I’m not entirely sure if the laughter is at me or with me.
