Losing cast members is a certainty in a long-running sitcom. Sadly, actors can't always stay committed to their communities, and replacing them can be a tricky business. For the most part, Community did a good job of bringing new personalities in. However, something still felt off, particularly when the episodes revolved around the new cast playing off each other rather than grand plots. Sadly, that's all you got in this one.

Basic RV Repair And Palmistry saw the Save Greendale Committee on a road trip to sell a giant hand bought by the Dean. However, nothing runs smoothly, as they run out of gas and end up stranded. It's a straightforward narrative that works around the interactions between the characters.

Unfortunately, while the comedy works well at times, it feels out of place as the chemistry of the old cast is gone. Frankie does a good job, but Elroy's personality feels entirely dull and mundane in this one. Thus, giving him an essential centre in the narrative made it feel hollow.

It also needs to be stated that while the Dean had acted selfishly before, his actions here went over the line. His immaturity and refusal to accept responsibility made him too unlikeable in this outing.
