10 Worst Episodes Of Otherwise Excellent Sci-Fi TV Shows

1. Star Trek: The Next Generation - “Code Of Honor”

While it may not seem fair to hit Star Trek: The Next Generation twice on this list, the series deserves to take another hit for "Code of Honor," which is widely considered the series' worst episode. The episode was the fourth one produced, and it was terrible.

In the episode, the crew of the Enterprise visit with a delegation of people from the planet Ligon II to obtain a vaccine. When the people beam aboard after an initial meeting, their leader, Lutan, quickly abducts Tasha Yar down to the planet. Captain Picard demands her return, and eventually, the crew beams down to the planet.

The episode deals with women's rights in a society, and just like the fourth episode of Stargate: SG-1, it was way too soon in the series to tackle a complicated theme like women's rights. By the end of the episode, Yar has to fight Lutan's woman to the death, and it's all done in a cheesy and silly manner.

The episode was negatively received when it was aired in 1987, and it has not aged well. It's often brought up as a bad example of a sci-fi show attempting to tackle important issues and has been described as "possibly the worst piece of Star Trek ever made."
