10 Worst TV Shows Of 2018 (So Far)
4. Life Sentence
Living down to every expectation you probably have of a drama situated on The CW, Life Sentence had sure potential to subvert its Nicholas Sparks-baiting premise - a young woman (Lucy Hale) finds out her terminal cancer is cured - but mostly gives in to its basest, most cringe-inducing instincts.
Lucy Hale makes for an engaging lead, but as is the case with so many of these shows, she's helpless against slack writing which aims for the lowest-common denominator rather than offer up any genuinely life-affirming observations.
Jam-packed with enough melodrama to give even tweens a moment for pause, Life Sentence failed to deliver likeable characters or compelling, contrivance-free drama. It's so sugary and high-calorie you'll want to brush your teeth after watching it.
Unsurprisingly, it was cancelled mid-way through its first season.
