3. Kate Micucci (Lucy) Was Almost Cast As Amy Farrah Fowler

Although most of us know comedian Kate Micucci best as Raj's troubled love interest Lucy, had Mayim Bialik not won the part of Amy Farrah Fowler, the role could have been hers. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Micucci stated " thought of me for Lucy because I auditioned for Amy years ago, and they liked and kept me in the back of their minds. When this character came up, that's how I ended up playing ." Micucci joined the cast as Lucy towards the end of Season 6, making her first appearance in the episode "The Tangible Affection Proof." After meeting Raj at a Valentine's Day party at the comic book store, she agrees to go for coffee with him - only to then become overwhelmed by shyness and escape through the cafe's bathroom window. Prior to TBBT, Micucci played recurring roles in Scrubs and Raising Hope, as well as a host of other small parts in various sitcoms. She is also a singer-songwriter, as one part of acoustic comedy duo Garfunkel and Oates with fellow comedian Riki Lindhome.
