David Tennant, The man formerly known as the 10th Doctor(the chronology of Who is a mess right now) will go down as unarguably one of the greatest actors to play the iconic Time Lord. Tennant's great acting depth was further displayed in future TV entries, most notably as DI Hardy in Broadchurch and a show stealing performance in Netflix's Jessica Jones as the 'man in purple', Kilgrave. While Tennant brought a strong characterisation and strong American accent to the Netflix Marvel series, the same could not be said for his performance in the singular episode of Rex Is Not Your Lawyer.

The NBC show never made made it past the pilot stage, despite Tennant being joined by screen veteran Jerry O'Connell from cult hilt Sliders. The premise saw Tennant's character Rex, an up and coming Lawyer, suffer panic attacks prior to each case, leading him to have to instruct his client on how to represent themselves.

While there were definitely issues with how the producers intended on sustaining this premise, Tennant's weak performance in the pilot, including a strange imitation of a US accent, was a contributing factor for the show not being picked up. Tennant was remarkably stilted considering what the role required, and the accent sounded like a poor first attempt that was largely devoid of emotion.

It was definitely not Tennant's finest hour, but thankfully he has rebounded well since, his American accent thankfully perfected for his Marvel debut.
