Picking up directly after 'That Went Well', after BoJack skipped out on the first episode of season four entirely, the titular character continues driving away from LA and ignoring every one of Diane's calls. He found himself heading for his family's old summer home in Michigan, where he would spend the next few months.

This is the first real view we get into the life of BoJack's mother, who seemingly had a relatively happy upbringing, until the tragic loss of her brother Crackerjack during the war. It was her mother who struggled to get over the loss of her son, and heart breakingly told Beatrice to never love anyone as much as she loved Crackerjack. This explains so much about her relationship with her own son.

Throughout the episode, BoJack meets and befriends Eddie, the dragonfly who lived across from the old Sugarman place, and who also struggled with the loss of someone dear to him. This was the theme throughout the entire episode, as Mrs. Horseman struggled to cope without Crackerjack, BoJack lost Sarah Lynn, and Eddie still missed his wife Lorraine.

The parallels drawn between many of these characters were portrayed in a hauntingly beautiful way as Mrs. Horseman and Eddie shared a duet on the piano, and BoJack watched the Sarah Lynn miniseries while his grandma searched for Crackerjack's blanket. The icing on the cake of this episode was the lobotomy that Mrs. Horseman was forced to endure, and Eddie's screams of wanting to die without Lorraine by his side.
