12 Saddest Bojack Horseman Episodes

5. Stupid Piece Of Sh*t - S4E6

Bojack Horseman
Netflix

The title says it all for this episode. Immediately were are greeted by the inner thoughts of BoJack Horseman, as we truly get to see how he thinks before acting like the piece of sh*t for which the episode is named.

We know that BoJack can be a down right awful person at times, but his inner monologue really gave us an insight into what he thought about himself. He was in a constant internal battle between trying to be better and hating everything about himself.

He wanted to kill himself, he blamed himself for the ruining the lives of Herb, Sarah Lynn, and Penny, he grew jealous of the attention his mother gave to her doll, and threw the toy Beatrice genuinely believed to be a real baby over his balcony and down the mountain. We also got an insight into BoJack's depressing childhood, as he told his mom off for leaving him alone in his room without feeding or changing him.

The saddest moment comes when BoJack takes the time to actually sit down and speak to Hollyhock. She was worried that the voice in the back of her head telling her how worthless, stupid, and ugly she was wouldn't go away. BoJack told her it would, despite the fact that we had been listening to that exact voice of BoJack's all episode long. Life doesn't get any easier when you grow up.
