12 TV Shows Set To Go Viral In 2021

A long time in the making, The Lord of the Rings is finally getting the TV series it has always deserved. The epic fantasy drama is set thousands of years before the events of either The Hobbit or the original Lord of the Rings trilogy, and will follow a vast array of new and old characters as they face the return of a great evil in Middle-Earth.

With an enormous ensemble cast that includes Robert Aramayo, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge and far too many more to name, the series is set to air on Amazon Prime in winter 2021, and will take a more expansive, detailed look at the world introduced so richly back in Fellowship of the Ring.

The series will consist of eight episodes at first, with a second season already greenlit. As with the original trilogy, the show was filmed in New Zealand and has reportedly cost around $200 million to produce. With its epic scope, massive budget, and solid acting talent, The Lord of the Rings might just be the biggest show of the year, and certainly one of the most talked about.
