15 Best Companions In Doctor Who History

2. Amy Pond (Karen Gillan)

This fiery Scot etched herself on the Eleventh Doctor's hearts. Amy grew from a selfish but scarred wee girl (let's not forget she tried to pounce on the Doctor the night before her wedding) to the woman who ditched everything to be with Rory after the Weeping Angels killed him off for the last time.

Amy's is a complex story. She was the Doctor's best friend, comedy sidekick and confidante and her decision to abandon him broke him to the extent that he decided to hide away hermit style in Victorian London until the appearance of the impossible girl, Clara Oswald, managed to lure him out of his shell.
