Who watches the watchers who watch the whales? On this occasion, I'm not sure even temporal shielding will help with the meta-paradox of Cetacean Operations within Cetacean Observations. Gillian, the Voyager-A's resident whale and speaker of Murf, is, of course, her own giant Easter egg to you know which film with the… Then, in the mirror universe, even the whales are evil! Perhaps 'mean machine' was taken, after all.

Given the simply staggering number of Easter eggs in season two, it would be impossible for me to begin to list them, lest I dedicate an article (or several) to it. For the comprehensive guide, I refer you to my colleagues Ellie and Seán in their four-part Ups & Downs.

If I may observe anything and insist, it is this, and returning to the beginning of this article as only temporal mechanics can allow, season two of Star Trek: Prodigy should be lauded for the faultless, artful consistency with which it has referenced, not just the incarnations before it, but itself.
