10. "The Prometheon" - Superman: The Animated Series
A lot of the episodes we've talked about tapped into the various different aspects of Superman. Some were about what makes Clark Kent tick, while others were an examination of a god dealing with human problems. Sometimes, though, you just wanna see Superman fight a big, gigantic monster.
Which is exactly what "The Prometheon" gives us, although in true Superman: The Animated Series fashion, you get what you wanted and a little bit more.
In "The Prometheon", we see the early stages of the character known as General Hardcastle, a xenophobic man who hates Superman and just about any alien in the galaxy. Though they are forced to work together, Hardcastle's arc would continue through this series and pay off brilliantly in Justice League Unlimited.
"The Prometheon" is a brilliant story as it shows that Superman is just as intelligent as he is strong, as he's the only one to realize that the creature was built to feed on the monstrous weapons that are being used against him. Using his quick wits and a bit of science, Superman manages to show that he's not all fists in this classic episode.
