Gilmore Girls has so many fantastic elements about it – beautiful set designs, clever camera work, witty dialogue, lovely costumes etc. And best of all, some amazing acting performances which have resonated with fans because of how genuinely raw and emotional they were.

But in its entire seven year run, the show only received one Emmy award. And not even in a category that you’d expect. It was the award for Outstanding Makeup for a Series, seen in the episode “The Festival of Living Art”. The townspeople staged famous paintings where there are some very lavish costumes to feast your eyes upon.
