23 Actors You Totally Forgot Were In Doctor Who

1. Sir Ian McKellen

Last but not least, it's the almighty Gandalf himself! Sir Ian McKellen is such a formidable on screen force to be reckoned with that it was only a matter of time until he was enlisted to leave his mark on the Doctor Who mythology - but who'd have thought it would be as the voice of a sinister snowman!? The multiple award winning stage and screen veteran appeared in the 2012 Christmas Special (or at least, his voice did!) and the show was so blasé about the whole thing that most people didn't even realise it was him at all. No stranger to the world of cult franchises, Ian's coveted cinematic contributions include Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and X-Men (to name but a few!) and he even found the time to turn up in Coronation Street for a pint in t' Rovers back in 2005. Is there anything he can't do?! No, is the short answer, and let's hope this isn't the last the Whoniverse has seen of him! What did you think of this list?
