Whilst fielding the question on animation at the 10th anniversary panel Whedons response was that he felt what would be even better would be to further explore Firefly as a serialised radio show, a suggestion that prompted an amusing ad-libbed scene by Fillion and Tudyk, which addressed the "sexual tension" between Mal and Zoe. Though Whedon's comment was fairly off-the-cuff it raised an intriguing idea about how more Firefly stories could be told economically - in a way which, unlike the comic books, would utilise the talents of the much loved cast. As has already been covered in the animation entry, the crew of Serenity certainly have the pedigree for dialogue-only performance and would surely relish any opportunity to inhabit their characters once more. The biggest indicator Firefly could work in radio though is the success of the BBC and Big Finish Productions' series of Doctor Who radio shows. The audio version of the Timelord's adventures set a precedent for reviving old characters that no longer fit into ongoing continuity, such as Paul McGann's Doctor and Doctors 4 through 8.
As well as the odd article, I apply my "special mind" to scriptwriting for Comics, Films and Games... Oh and I cut down trees, I skip and jump, I like to press wild flow'rs, I put on women's clothing, and hang around in bars.
