8 Cleverest TV Series Finale Titles

3. Everyone's Waiting - Six Feet Under

The Sopranos
HBO

Universally beloved by critics and fans alike, the series finale of Six Feet Under brings the show's focal plot device of death to the forefront. Instead of just one death, it solemnly showcases the deaths of the main characters in unique fashion.

The show was distinct for each episode opening with a death of some sort. What made the series finale so different was that it both opened with a birth and closed with the death events of the main characters.

During the finale, an imaginary Nate informs Claire that everyone is waiting for her on the porch. There is, however, more context to this. Nate was informing Claire that she must go live her life on her own accord, and everyone will be waiting for her on the other side once she is finished.

It's a very moving moment to end off an already touching series. Six Feet Under, using the finale title, teaches us the lesson of just living your life as much as you can. We all await death in the latter parts of our lives, so it's important to use the time in between life and death effectively.
