8 Ways Brooklyn Nine-Nine Could End
5. Holt Finally Becomes Commissioner
It seems inevitable that the show will conclude with the loveable Raymond Holt becoming the NYPD Police Commissioner. It's been a central storyline for a while now and would be the perfect full circle for the show. Brooklyn Nine-Nine began with Holt's admittance as Captain, so ending with him leaving would bookend it entirely.
However, while that is a very sensible option, it does seem a little too predictable. Seeing Captain Holt ascend the ranks and achieve his dream has been drip-fed to us for some time now, and finishing the show off with something like that wouldn't feel particularly spectacular.
When it comes to predicting the ending, it does seem that walking the most straightforward route could happen, but it would feel somewhat out of character for the series to stick to the beaten track. This ending would undoubtedly lead to a very wholesome moment but might be a disappointing way to deliver the finale.
With that being said, we all still want to see Holt achieve his dream, so perhaps going for something simple would be for the best.
