9 Historical Inaccuracies In BBC's Wolf Hall

2. Some Of The Houses Used For Filming Were Not Built For Another 50 Years

Montacute House features prominently throughout Wolf Hall, with Henry VIII and Cromwell even walking around the grounds in one particularly important scene - yet the residence was not even constructed until 1598, 51 years after the King's death. In addition, Barrington Court - which also features - was not completed until the late-1550s (although construction was started in 1538), while Chastlelton House was not built until the early-1600s. Henry VIII achieved much throughout his reign - but stepping foot in grand houses 50 years before they were completed was certainly not among his accomplishments.
