Doctor Who: 20 Things You Didn’t Know About A Christmas Carol

14. Abigail’s Song Was VERY Last Minute

Doctor Who A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol featured a marvellous performance from Katherine Jenkins, a classical singer hailing from Wales.

This show finally ran out of places in Wales to use, so it started stealing its people instead!

Jenkins was a big get for Doctor Who, so you'd have thought the idea of getting her to sing a song would've been organised way in advance.

Well, think again.

While it was always in Moffat's script that Abigail would sing a new Christmas tune, composer Murray Gold wasn't informed until the very last minute. He had around three weeks to come up with the song before it was required for filming – which wasn't a lot of time for something like this – but he managed it.

Still no sign of the Series 10 soundtrack though. Wish he'd hurry up with that.
