American Horror Story: 10 Interesting Theme Ideas For Future Seasons

8. Prison

Unlike shows such as Orange Is The New Black, an American Horror Story season could take place in a federal penitentiary like Alcatraz. It could be based either in modern day America or it could be based on the real Alcatraz prison after it was modernized to meet the requirements of a top-notch security prison in 1934. Alcatraz is known for loads of ghost hauntings and that could be the angle the producers take on in American Horror Story. To make things more interesting for a modern take, the ghosts could be famous people who were imprisoned there long ago, like Al Capone, George "Machine-Gun" Kelly, Alvin Karpis and Arthur "Doc" Barker. The federal penitentiary was also known for its cruel treatment of its prisoners, and if the AHS producers decided to go with the 1930's angle, then they could focus on the tales of torture or the way they kept prisoners in "hole" cells. It would very much be based around the same idea as Asylum was back in Season 2.
