Ryan Murphy, the show's producer is a huge Children Of The Corn fan and decided to incorporate that into the new season. "There's nothing scarier than a platinum blonde baby running around doing evil deeds" he tweeted.

He made sure that there are a bunch of those running around, too. 

However, who are these kids? They seem to follow Elizabeth everywhere, so perhaps they're her children? Somehow I can just imagine her going into labour the same way as Morticia Gomez in Adams Family Values, with all the poise in the world.

Another theory is that she finds these children, terrorizes them and feeds off of their souls. 

Somehow the latter sounds a lot more plausible.
