Arrow Season 4: 5 Reasons To Be Excited About John Constantine

2. Lifts Right Out

Constantine Matt Ryan
NBC

Quite aside from the “one and done” nature of his appearance in “Haunted,” the presumed lack of any connective threads between Constantine and the characters of Arrow will allow him to pop in and pop out without upsetting any dynamics.

As hilarious as it would be for John Constantine to join the ranks of Barry Allen and Ray Palmer as major comic characters to bounce in and annoy Oliver by paying particular attention to Felicity, Constantine’s status as a traveling dispatcher of the supernatural will keep him from overstaying his welcome as either a character or a construct. His status as a pre-developed character will at least spare fans of Arrow from sitting through yet another origin story unrelated to the protagonist Green Arrow himself, and Constantine will be able to appear and disappear with minimal melodrama as a standalone guest star.
